History
Cat Cat Productions is a film production company I co-founded with Casey Poma in Los Angeles in 2012. We first met in an introductory video class at California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB), where our shared sense of humor and creativity led to the creation of a unique web series called Grape Flavored Waterslide. After graduating, we moved to Los Angeles to pursue our filmmaking careers and officially established Cat Cat Productions. We produced our first short film in 2013 and launched our official website seven years later. As of 2024, Cat Cat Productions is still going strong, with a web series in post-production and another project in pre-production. To date, we've produced nine short films.

2015 | Sh**ty Dog Movies - The 12 Dogs of Christmas | Commentary Video | Commentator | A lively review of The 12 Dogs of Christmas, featuring Casey's and my critiques of the film. |
2015 | Chef Kevin is Hot...In the Kitchen | Instructional Video | Director & Editor | This year, I invited my friends to create film restrictions and rules, which I then randomly drew from a hat. I had to incorporate these rules into the project, resulting in a fun and quirky instructional video featuring a wacky chef character played by Casey.More info.
Made with the following 6 rules drawn from a hat: Sindie's: One third of the movie features close-ups on body parts, including heads, hands, and legs, as well as sausages and Mr. Hat, all counted as body parts. Kevin's: A cute female character says "Kevin is hot" with a wink. The line and wink are in the movie, and the character could be played by anyone, even the rule giver. Kevin's: K-pop plays in the background. Excerpts of "Bang Bang Bang" by Big Bang are used at the start and end of the movie. Richard's: A talking hat appears. Mr. Hat speaks to Chef Kevin. Casey's: A cake-adilla must be in the movie, featured in Chef Kevin's instructional video. Adam's: No technology from before 1995 is visible. The film is set in 1996, so the technology shown (stove, fridge, etc.) is acceptable. |
2016 | Angry Adam's Stupid Vlog Episodes 1-4 | Commentary Video | Director & Editor | A mini-series featuring Casey as Adam, a character with opposing views on topics such as vlogging and gender stereotypes. |
2016 | Salmonrai | Short film | Co-creator and actor | An homage to Samurai films and Akira Kurosawa, showcasing a leap in cinematography and quality while maintaining Cat Cat's signature silliness. |
2016 | U.PH.O Commentary | Commentary Video | Commentator | Daniel 'Holmes' Lujan, star of this short, joins us for what I think is our most insightful commentary yet. |
2016 | Old Saint Dick 3: Slam Dunk Saint Dick | Short film | Co-creator and actor | Third film in the Saint Dickl saga and our first (and last) sports film. |
2017 | U.Ph.O - Costa Rican Version | Short film | Co-creator and actor | A pointless re-release of U.P.H.O, distinguished only by the gradual increase in volume of the Costa Rican national anthem playing throughout the entire movie. |
2017 | Yeehawbanero | Short film | Co-creator and actor | Tackling the Spaghetti Western genre, our award-winning film, demonstrates our love for Sergio Leone films. It's also our only film to have been on a streaming service (so far). More info. It remains our only award-winning film to date, having won Best Western Comedy Short and Best Comedy awards at the Wild Bunch and Sunnyside Up Film Festivals in Arizona and Oklahoma, respectively. It was also selected for The Billy the Kid Film Festival in Texas and was a finalist for the Wild West Film Festival in Vacaville, California. For a brief period, the short film streamed on Great American Westerns, a now-defunct platform for Western genre films. |

2022 | The Brat Snack Trailer 2 | Trailer | Audio Mixer | Lynn Neumann, a fellow SDSU alum, edited this trailer for us, which also includes a classic trailer voice-over by Ryan Lee. |
2022 | The Brat Snack | Short film | Co-creator and actor | Our most ambitious project to date, inspired by John Hughes' 80s teen comedies. Edited over two years. Currently in the festival circuit, premiering at Planet 9 Film Festival and recently screened internationally in Austria at the Willlachen Comedy & Satire Film Festival. More info. This Cat Cat project features the most characters and longest runtime (33 mins). Filming began in 2020 and wrapped up two years later due to extensive editing and added visual effects work. Between juggling film school and jobs, this project took considerable time and a toll on our emotions. I'm grateful to Casey for his hard work and dedication on this project. I think in this project you can also see how far we have both come as actors. |
