Exploring This Website

Greetings, cosmic travelers and fellow Earth-dwellers! Welcome to Ralph's Digital Record!

Inspired by NASA's Voyager Golden Record—a time capsule of humanity sent into space for extraterrestrials to discover—I’ve created my own version on a much humbler scale. This website, presented in HTML format, serves as a repository for archiving my professional and creative pursuits (and sometimes musings), launched into the vast expanse of the internet instead of into space on a gold-plated phonograph.

An image of the Voyager Golden Record, a gold-plated phonograph record containing sounds and images representing Earth, intended for extraterrestrial beings. It includes scientific diagrams, music from different cultures, and greetings in multiple languages.

My goal is to feature straightforward navigation that connects one article to another (eventually, haha), embracing a nostalgic style reminiscent of 90s and 2000s personal websites, with a touch of that era's UFO and alien flair. For more about my design choices and why I chose Neocities, check out the About page.

Think of this as a cozy corner in the galaxy to explore my modest earthly adventures. Set your ship to cruise mode and stay as long as you like!

  • 7-10-24: Added hit counter and updated content on this page and filmmaking page.
  • 7-09-24: Created MLRS webpage. Implemented 'back' buttons. Started 'Filmmaking' page, organizing work into tables.
  • 7-08-24: Cleaned up code but realized some aspects were overengineered, making image placement challenging.
  • 7-07-24: Opted for a more personalized website concept. Finalized design, edited 'Current Project Log', introduced 'Website Update Log' and Contact page with guestbook. Launched 'Links' section (currently empty).
  • 7-05-24: Changed template for a cleaner personal portfolio look.
  • 7-04-24: Inspired by my friend Casey's website revamp, I began creating this site. Experimented with design inspired by Wikipedia.org, starting from a template at html5-templates.com.
